The T5 Venture helmet is a sharp looking, lightweight (1587 grams), breathable ADVenture-style helmet in a cost-effective package. The professional grade fit and finish are surprising for a helmet in this price range, and I didn’t notice any imperfections in its appearance, material, or seams.
The T5 features an adjustable mouth intake port with a ram air cooling system and internal EPS ventilation channels that do a great job keeping the ol’ noggin cool and fogging at bay. And there’s a rubberized wind channel along where the visor meets the helmet that effectively dampens wind noise and pull. I even breathed like Darth Vader in an attempt to fog up the visor to no avail—it remained clear, demonstrating ample ventilation. Likewise, the adjustable mouth intake worked as advertised in the open/close positions.

The scratch- and fog-resistant shield is clear as they come, with no parallax along the curved areas. It’s not graduated with prepositioned “notches;” instead, there’s sufficient friction to hold the visor open at any point along its full range of motion. The “thumb rest” where you make contact to open/close the visor is ample and easily manipulated, too.
I didn’t notice the sunshade beak acting as a “wind sail” at freeway speeds, either. Past helmets I’ve owned had a tendency to yank my head back if the wind caught the beak at any respectable speed. To remove it, it’s a simple twist of three knobs and off it goes. Another noteworthy point is this comfortable helmet seemed a bit quieter than my past helmets, although I’d still wear hearing protection for freeway jaunts to reduce the chances of long-term hearing damage.

Not only is the T5 Venture DOT approved, it’s ECE certified—a European-based quality standard. So you can be rest assured that your head will be well protected and well vented, while looking good. And for you sticker fiends, there is 2-1/2″ x 16″ of prime sticker real estate along the back of the helmet.
Bottom line, don’t let the price tag fool you, this is a good quality dual-sport helmet without the hefty sticker price of other well-known brands that have dominated the helmet world for decades. MSRP: $139 EVS-Sports.com
