Right out of the box I was struck by the Patrol Boot’s overall quality. Taking the advice of others by ordering a half size up yielded a perfect fit. I was immediately impressed with how comfortable the boots felt, while still providing great ankle support. In fact, I wound up wearing them around for the rest of the afternoon. The Patrol’s unique lacing system, and well designed buckles, makes putting them on a breeze—although adding a loop to the back of the boot would be a welcome addition. Just be careful with the lace locks when buckling the boots, and make sure they’re pulled high in the front so that they don’t rub your ankles.

I wore the ICON Patrol Boots riding to work in the cold rain the next day, and my feet were warm and dry when I arrived. The toe has a nice low profile, so I didn’t have to adjust the shift lever on my DR650 to go through the gears comfortably. Having ridden in various conditions with these boots over the last few months, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality waterproof adventure/dual-sport boot at a good price point. You could wear them all day without fatiguing your feet, and along with a pair of jeans, few would even realize you were wearing riding boots. MSRP: $150.00 RideIcon.com
