Adventure riding women are a fast growing segment within our industry, and KLIM couldn’t resist taking notice. Good for them, because women not only value the importance of top quality protective wearables, but also have growing discretionary income. It wasn’t long ago that women were relegated to wearing men’s gear or lesser quality moto-X apparel that didn’t get the meaning of “understated.” Now we’ll be able to back up KLIM as a manufacturer who is taking women’s requirements seriously. Case in point: the Savanna pant.
The ability to order this over-the-boot off-road pant in Long started me off on the right foot with my 31” inseam. The combination of durable 420D Cordura fabric and water-resistant coating, plus a more feminine cut, makes these pants stand out on the trail. I typically prefer in-theboot pants, but with the generously long adjustable Velcro cuff system I was able to cinch the pants tight to my boots to avoid catching on the bike. I also appreciate the dual adjustable Velcro cinch straps at the waist for the perfect fit in various sizes. Additional stretch material in the flex zones flesh out the comfort of these pants for enduring long hours in the saddle. The overall interface with the bike, especially gripping the tank, is improved by thicker, highabrasion and melt-resistant leather on the legs. The hip and knee armor pockets accommodate the KLIM D30 Evo Pro XT pads constructed from an advanced compound for higher impact resistance within a thinner pad. After the pad conforms to the bend of the knee in the riding position, the armor provides for more comfortable, longer riding time.
Now this off-road pant will have some company on the KLIM women’s rack with the new 2014 adventure line called the Altitude. KLIM.com
