When shopping for an exhaust, you’re probably seeking a gain in horsepower, a drop in weight, and for some, a more satisfying sound. The Two Brothers M-2 V.A.L.E. Exhaust fits the bill.
Installation is a breeze. However, because the exhaust is a three-quarter system rather than a slip-on, it didn’t fit with the skid plate on our project bike, and had to be removed. Once mounted, it gives the V-Strom a cleaner and thinner profile and a sleek look overall while shedding over ten pounds of weight.

Upon starting the bike, there’s no mistaking the upgrade. The pipes are loud, which for some may be a good thing, unless you leave for work as early as I do—however Two Brothers does offer a power tip that will quiet the exhaust 7–8 decibels.
As for the ride, there is a noticeable increase in power and throttle response at all RPMs, but no noticeable improvement in gas mileage. That said, the Two Brothers exhaust is much more appropriate for street than off-road use due to the skid plate modifications required to make it work. MSRP: $819.98 TwoBros.com
