MOESOF Gen 2 Endurance Seat Review

After a few days on the Trans-America Trail, the limiting factor for how long I could ride each day wasn’t the range of my gas tank, or how much daylight remained, but how much my butt hurt. My Yamaha WR250R was equipped with an aftermarket seat, which was worlds better than the rock-hard stocker, but the slim profile of a dual-sport really isn’t designed for long distances. I knew I wasn’t the only one who wanted an alternative, and fortunately one now exists!

When ADVMoto glimpsed the original MOESOF Endurance Seat, we couldn’t help but think it looked a bit kooky, but we brought it to rallies to ask attendees for feedback. Based on community input, MOESOF then burned the midnight oil to produce the GEN 2.

MOESOF Endurance Seats are made of two EPP foam cylinders attached using polyester straps. Sheathed flat bungee cords with gutter hooks are used to attach the system to the stock seat. Endurance Seats can be installed quickly for on-road comfort, or removed for off-road ergonomics.

MOESOF endurance seat review 1

At first glance, the GEN 2 Endurance Seat looks simply like half of the first-generation seat, but the evolution is in the details. The finish on the new product is more refined, and the revised mounting procedure is user-friendly as well as aesthetically pleasing. The smaller size allows the product to be rolled up and packed into a tank or tail bag when not in use.

I’m now riding a Honda CRF 250L and there’s no friendly way of putting it—the stock seat sucks! But I’m happy to report that the MOESOF GEN 2 Endurance Seat has cured all of my discomfort issues. Since my booty has a wider seating area, there isn’t direct pressure on my tailbone anymore and extended tarmac riding is no longer a literal “pain in the butt.” The new design makes it look like a simple product, but it has made riding a dual-sport on the road much more comfortable, and I wish I’d had it on the Trans-America Trail.

For those with multiple motorcycles, keep in mind that the MOESOF Endurance Seat is model specific. Each product is handmade by MOESOF creator Mark Campfield, right out of his own garage. “Big wide bikes are comfortable on the road, narrow light bikes are capable off road,” says Mark. “I created MOESOF Seats for dual-sport and adventure bikes to address this compromise, allowing for much longer on-road trips in comfort, and easy removability when you hit the trails.”

Endurance Seats are available for most popular dual-sport, enduro, and ADV bikes, as displayed on the MOESOF website. If you’re planning a long tour, or for day-to-day commuting comfort, do your butt a favor and bring a MOESOF Endurance Seat with you. MSRP: $127.00 MOESOF.com
