KLIM Latitude Pants
Although pants generally have fewer features than jackets, the Latitude pants exhibit many of the same benefits of the jacket. Freedom of movement is excellent and they are extremely waterproof. Although there’s not much in the way of usable pockets, I don’t expect any pants pocket to be easy to use with gloves on.
My only wish would be that the side zippers were made almost full length so I could put on boots before putting on the pants. Adventure boots tend to be large and stiff making it very difficult to slide them through the opening zips at the bottom cuffs. Also, if you’re a fan of suspenders, KLIM suspenders integrate nicely with the included loops, but the center’s back union isn’t adjustable, so the straps may have a tendency to wander off your shoulders.
When it’s all said and done, the KLIM Latitude series is an excellent suit, ready for anything from commuting to touring to hard-core adventure off-road riding.Despite some issues I would consider nit-picking, the Latitude is one of the best all-around suits with great comfort, water-proofing and live-in features.
With Polaris’ acquisition of KLIM, they are now expanding beyond the off-road and snowmobile markets, into the street and touring segments. Off-road purists may not think it’s a smart move, but who doesn’t want dry, comfortable, well built suits that last at least 10 years of heavy use? Properties like this make the Latitude more than armor… it’s a life-saving friend!
