Honda announces updates for their 2019 CB500X with longer travel suspension, a slipper clutch, and a 19 inch front wheel.

We've always thought the Honda CB500X had more potential as an adventure touring bike, and the new upgrades will help it meet our expectations. The new 2019 CB500X will have a 19/17 wheel combo, increased suspension travel (5.9 inches up front, 5.3 inches in the rear), and new bodywork for more wind protection. Considering the multiple versions of the Honda CB line, this is probably the bike Honda should have showcased in 2013.
Increase suspension travel is partly due to a new shock and revised forks. We would've like to have seen the new CB come with adjustable USD suspenders, but it looks like Honda will stick with the economical route. A new LCD dash replaces a unit that was susceptible to harsh glares and low visiblity in direct sunlight.

The 471cc parallel-twin engine will put out about the same amount of power and torque, but performance characteristics have been re-tuned, probably for more low and mid-range torque. The upgrades result in a 7lb weight increase to and the CB500X tips the scales at 434 pounds.
We don't have exact specs, pricing, or availability info just yet, but we'll keep you updated as the news rolls in from the 2018 EICMA show. Stay tuned! Powersports.Honda.com
