**Update - The RX3S will not be sold in the US market, but stay tuned for a 380cc model in 2019!
Currently being tested for EPA and CARB, the new 2019 RX4 450 and RX3S 400 are the latest additions to CSC's growing line-up of affordable motorcycles. It seems Zongshen, the supplier of CSC motorcycles, has taken note of the popularity of mid-displacement adventure bikes and responded with two offerings - the RX4 sports a 450cc single-cylinder engine, and the RX3S uses a 380cc parallel-twin. While both (soon to be) street-legal configurations have similar features, including electric start, fuel injection, and six speed transmissions, we expect the RX3S to be a smooth running canyon carver, while the RX4 is a trail thumpin' off-roader.
The 2019 CSC RX4 features a 43.5 hp, single-cylinder engine.
Both dual-sport motorcycles will have seat heights under 32 in., and while the RX4 seems to use a similar frame as the RX3, the tubular frame of the RX3S looks completely new. On the scales with OEM luggage systems and 5.2 Gal gas tanks, the RX3S will weigh 408 lbs and the RX4 will be 450 lbs. The parallel-twin will put out 36.7 hp, while the single surprises us at 43.5 hp. Based on our calculations, the RX4 will have a similar power-to-weight ratio as a Suzuki DRZ400S.
The RX3S uses a parallel-twin engine for smoother power delivery.
We're still waiting on suspension specs and estimated pricing, and of course some of the figures listed below could change after EPA/CARB gets their hands on these bikes. We can't wait to learn more about the RX4 and RX3S and when we do, we'll be sure to bring you the good word. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section below! CSCMotorcycle.com
