Get where you are going, take out the armor and enjoy. The new Protekt pants by Aerostich are for on-and-off the bike short-hop everyday riding. Clean, simple, old school straight leg blue jeans...with a new trick: Impact armor-holding pockets at the knee, accessed via a hidden zipper. This armor is removed or replaced in seconds, easily, while wearing the pants.

All the rest is classic denim jean spec., with fit and cut similar to Levi 501's. Specifically, Aerostich Protekt's are carefully sewn of unwashed dark blue 100% cotton 14 oz denim fabric, which is a bit heavier-duty than the more common 10-12 oz denim pants stores carry, but it still shrinks-to-a-custom-fit after a wash or two, which makes these pants extra comfortable and wear a lot longer.

For safety there are generous hidden areas of highly abrasion resistant Breathable-Waterproof High Tenacity 500 D Nylon a fabric similar to the Gore-Tex Cordura in Aerostich suits at the seat and knees, and for 'commando' comfort this extra-abrasion-resistant fabric is entirely backed by soft 100% cotton pocketing fabric.

 As you'd expect there are five traditional pockets, five belt loops, and a reliable metal fly zipper, too. But as you wouldn't expect, the hidden seat-protective breathable-waterproof abrasion layer means you can sit on a freshly rain-wetted saddle and not get a wet butt. Nice!

The optional knee armor is positioned in the correct location when riding, and when you're off the bike these are always comfortably flexible. It's hard to believe that at sudden impact they instantly stiffen to absorb the blow, yet the harder the impact, the stiffer they resist.

And when you remove this optional TF knee armor, these jeans look, feel, and wear just like any regular jeans. The available low Profile TF5 armor is smaller than TF3 armor, and slightly more comfortable.

All key stitching is double and triple wherever needed, and a small crotch gusset provides some extra ease and comfort that's great when mounting up and also as you move around in the saddle through your ride.
