“We are ready to host a world-class event with live tracking for the fans around the globe”, explained BAJA RALLY Executive VP, Fred Sobke, “Our sponsors, officials and media representatives are all in place and ready showcase the elements of our great state for our most important VIP’s, the riders themselves. “

International racing stars to race next week include Dakar Rally and Caselli Foundation board member Quinn Cody, five-time Baja 1000 winner Steve Hengeveld and TV personality Cameron Steele. Also vying for the honors are American Dakar Rally entrants Scott Bright and Ian Blythe, among many others.

BAJA RALLY was founded on a three-point mission to introduce Dakar-style rally navigation to the state of Baja CA, teach participants about Baja CA’s rich history and culture and to stimulate eco-tourism. The more environmentally conscious and generally safer form of racing is catching attention of traditional off road racers and fans alike. The live tracking element gives the fans something to look forward to four full days starting next Tuesday at 6:30a.m.

According the BAJA RALLY President “Poncho” Alfonso Alonso, the “Rally” is a massive collaboration among over 100 people contributing over the course of an entire year and securing host locations Rancho El Coyote in the Sierra San Pedro de Martir, Mama Esponosa’s in El Rosario and Mission Catavina in the Valle de Los Cirios.

"A lot goes on during the winter and spring to make these stages and work with the land owners and officials to allow it safely and with the proper permits and studies”, Poncho explains, “We have many thanks for our partners and supporting sponsors to stay with us during the quiet times so we can make a big event for everyone, especially with the use of live tracking".

This third edition of Baja CA’s roadbook navigation rally will also signal the start of a multi-year Manifesto Impacto Ambiental, an independent environmental impact study to measure the affects and relative benefits of BAJA RALLY format of racing in this country.

All of the action starts in one week from the landmark San Nicolas Hotel & Casino with “tech day” on Monday followed by four full days of rally racing. BajaRallyMoto.com
