Ordu Texas is an independent documentary film about Osman Gursoy. He is an 80 year old man, currently living in Ordu, Turkey, who traveled more than 200,000 kilometers on his small scooter across Europe and North America in the late 1960's.

His passion for motorbikes started with a modification of a bicycle when he was young by adding a simple engine to it. This lifetime journey took him from Turkey to Europe 18 times and then across North America. Despite the fact that Mr. Osman is probably one of the first adventure travelers from Turkey, his stories are not really well-known.

​Filmmaker/Traveler Tolga Basol wanted to film a documentary about him to inspire others. ​Osman Gursoy traveled all across Europe with a six horse power scooter he bought in 1969, taking him on incredible adventures with wonderful stories.

Tolga Basol came up with the idea of making a documentary about Osman Gursoy because ​he ​was inspired by his story.​ He​ ha​s​ worked as a motion graphics designer in Istanbul since 2002. Filmmaking and traveling on ​his motorcycle ​has been ​his biggest passion besides ​his professional career.

Tolga​ filmed Ordu, Texas about a year ago with a three man crew, and ​he ​was able to produce the trailers​ ​without any financial support and with the help of ​his friends.
