This afternoon we welcomed our latest project bike to the ADVMoto stables, a 2014.5 Kawasaki KLR 650 N.E. As many of you well know, the KLR is a relatively inexpensive and capable adventure touring machine. While the new editions firmer springs and rebound damping greatly improve its capabilities in stock condition.
Of course as our latest project bike don't expect it to stay that way for long. We will be pushing the limits of the KLR to find its greatest attributes and most minute idiosyncrasies, and testing some of the hottest new adventure accessories along the way.
The good news is that because the KLR has been in production since 1987, most of the leg work has been done for us by the factory. Kawasaki has done a wonderful job sussing out the weak points of this bike over the past 27 years, and everything they've missed has been discovered by enthusiasts logging countless miles around the globe on KLR's.
Its really quite a powerful thing to know exactly what you can expect to go awry on your machine before you even leave the driveway. The best part is that once we get a few doohickey's out of the way the KLR can begin its climb to a new level of adventure capability.
