As you read this the RawHyde crew is preparing for their annual move from Los Angeles to beautiful Park County, Colorado and the center of what’s called the High Rockies, a place where the summertime high temperature never exceeds 85 degrees.
RawHyde cannot emphasize enough how incredible Colorado is for Adventure Riding. Stunning alpine passes; views that will take your breath away; perfect weather and thousands of miles of trails and back country roads to explore. If you can find your way to RawHyde Colorado this summer you will not regret it. There’s some big plans for this year including three major events.
First, the Colorado Back Country Discovery Route adventure is a 6 day ride beginning and ending at the RawHyde facility near Colorado Springs and covers all the high points of the state. You will begin in the 4 corners area and go over the Continental Divide several times, visit some of Colorado’s rich mining history in small villages with names like the Tin Cup and Pitkin and travel over the infamous Ophir Pass, Hagerman Pass and others. This is one of the most inspiring and gorgeous rides that you’ll ever have the opportunity to take. The Colorado Back Country Discovery Route adventure will tour three times this summer.
Next, a special 3 day event is the “E Ticket Ride”. Only folks of a certain age will understand what an E Ticket was, but back in the “old days” in Anaheim, California the E Ticket represented the best and most exciting rides at Disneyland. RawHyde’s E Ticket is a three day ride over and through the most exciting and stunning of Colorado’s mountain passes. This is an advanced ride for experienced off road riders only and limited to 12 riders.
Last but not least, the awesome Continental Divide Ride. This tour comes twice this summer. July is already sold out so reserve your spots for August. Picture a route two and a half thousand miles long, stretching from Mexico to Canada, traversing New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, with elevations from 4,000 feet to a cloud-scraping 13,000 feet. Remote and inspiring, riding the Great Divide is truly a bucket list trip. The route is only passable in summer, and even then storms can render many passages difficult but it’s an amazing trip, one you’ll talk about for years to come. RawHyde-OffRoad.com
