Explore South Africa’s network of backroads and jeep trails by motorcycle on MotoQuest’s South Africa Backroads Adventure, scheduled for October 5th - 21st 2014. This itinerary takes riders off the beaten path to discover more of South Africa’s beautiful interior that most tourists never get to experience.

The adventure begins in the coastal city of Cape Town where the MotoQuest team will greet you with a welcome dinner while laying out the course for the fifteen-day journey that lay ahead. On that journey, riders will be able to ride down the Cape peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, visit one of the best land-based whale watching locations in the world, ride the famous Garden Route, surf at world-renowned beaches, visit the Addo Elephant National Park, ride the Bavianskloof Mountains, see the Cango Caves, visit the fruit and wine capital of the Cape and more.

Riders can expect to spend approximately 40% of the itinerary riding in the dirt, including everything from well-maintained graded roads to jeep trails. The other 60% will be spent on pristine pavement with little to no traffic, a dream for any motorcyclist! If you are an accomplished rider, this is a great opportunity to bring a partner, significant other or buddy to share in the adventure. Lodging arrangements will include everything from 4-star hotels to a rustic farm house.
