gallery2G’day Possums,

Just what is an ADVENTURE? Well I had to look it up, and the book said…..”An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome. Adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as motorcycle riding, mountain climbing, sky diving or participating in extreme sports. The term also broadly refers to any enterprise that is potentially fraught with physical, financial or psychological risk, such as a business venture, a love affair, an Outback crossing or other major life undertakings.”

Seems I have been living an Adventure my whole life, one way or another! But I would have to say whole heartedly that it was the beauty of the Australian Outback that really hit the cords within and fired me up! Now, sharing those experiences with the teams and growing donations each year for Sids and Kids Queensland has been extremely satisfying and rewarding.

This year the ride leaves Byron Bay lighthouse on the Saturday 9th August, riders are gathering at 7.30am and ride out at 9.00am, you are very welcome to join us for the big Send Off which will be bigger than ever! We almost have a full team (one ticket left) and our 12 team members have smashed this year’s donation target 40K, to date we have raised a huge $43,000 so far! We have pushed our target tally to $50,000 and I am hoping that you may be able to help us with a few dollars to get there….the link below will take you to my donation page.

To date, The Great Australian Ride has raised over $110,000 for Australian Charities, and that's down to those who have decided to make a change regardless of the difficulties and the challenges ahead. Those from afar, Australian and International backgrounds...who are drawn too what we do, unable to deny the adventure, their courage outweighs the risk, their freedom searching for the true Australia.

I have also added three other links that you may like to have a look at, one is the new Sids and Kids Queensland website, second is our website with all the details and pictures about the ride and this year riders. The other link is my YouTube channel, showing short videos from the travels, happy viewing.
