Gallery1From their headquarters in Eagle, Colorado, the four motorcyclists who founded Butler Maps say their goal is to make “the best maps of the best roads.”

Their latest effort, the Utah Back Country Discovery Map, not only maps the standard gravel, mud, sand, dirt and pavement route, it also includes alternate routings, in case sections prove too difficult or impassable due to weather conditions.

The south-to-north route (apparently it’s much easier that way) is detailed in blown-up segments on the back of the map; the front of the map shows the entire state of Utah, with all major roads drawn in, just in case you need to make some serious time on the pavement at some point. Of course, the UTBDR’s GPS route available on their website would also be a valuable companion to this map. Touratech-usa.com
