gallery1Adventure motorcyclists and authors Will Wilkins and Kate Macdonell, have just updated and re-released their five-star-rated book about their incredible overland journey from Australia to England.

Thinking about a similar journey yourself? Or, simply looking for a fun read, packed with fascinating cultural insights, inspiration and humor, all rolled into a good ol’ yarn? Setting off on their trusty motorcycles from Wollongong, near Sydney in Australia, the authors headed for Woolwich in London, U.K., to have a nice cup of tea with their mums.

Some consider motorcycles THE way to experience foreign lands. Ride with “the other Will and Kate” over their 15,000 mile, 20 country overland journey halfway ’round the world. Follow them across the emptiness of the great Aussie outback to the manic traffic of Bangkok, Kathmandu and Delhi. Join them as they tackle the fabled and dangerous Karakoram Highway through the mountains of Pakistan, up and over the wondrous 15,000-foot Khunjerab Pass and into China. And then negotiate their way over the impossibly rough roads of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan into Russia, before the final 3,000 mile push through Europe.

The Ted Simon Foundation (JupitersTravellers.com), in conjunction with Adventure Motorcycle Magazine (AdventureMotorcycle.com), has just given the book a makeover and the new edition now includes many more pages of color photos and additional material.

W2W just goes to show that normal folks can do this kind adventuring without loads of planning or having a back-up 4x4. They’ve even provided an A-Z of useful tips ’n tricks on how to do a trip like it, yourself!

The new edition is a 224 page paperback with 14 pages of color photos, and is available for $29.99 (includes postage and handling—available only from the website below). A Kindle version is also available for a much kinder $5 via Amazon. WollongongToWoolwich.co.uk
