New riding boots and shoes offer comfort, protection, and style

DENVER, CO — Motorcyclists are familiar with the expression “one down, five up,” four single-syllable words that clearly and concisely describe the sequential shift pattern — 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 — of a foot-actuated, six-speed manual transmission. For many riders, toeing the next gear is second nature.

The REV’IT! Spring/Summer 2022 Footwear Collection takes shifting up a notch with 14 new boots and shoes for men and ladies. All are designed to provide a precise interface between rider and machine, to protect delicate bones and ligaments in the ankles and feet, and to create a stable platform for smooth stops in traffic or off-road.

Five models — Discovery GTX, Everest GTX, Expedition GTX, Link GTX, and Pioneer GTX — feature a GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane. “Acquisition of the GORE-TEX license for footwear is a benchmark moment for us,” says van Bilsen. “It opened the road to introducing a wider range of premium solutions incorporating GORE’s unique waterproofing technology.”

REV’IT!’s drive to develop rider type-specific collections also applies to its footwear strategy and is directly linked to the products created for different target audiences. This includes use of new platforms and technologies, ergonomics and fits, as well as design aesthetics — better footwear for a more clearly defined motorcyclist.

Astro Ghost

Blending basketball, trail-running, and street-style influences with reinforcements at the ankles, heels, and toes, this lace-up high-top offers on-bike protection that average sneakers can’t match. Inside, a soft leather lining and an OrthoLite® insole up the comfort quotient. Extra laces are included.
